The return on in investment (ROI) for direct mail is also robust compared to other mediums:

These numbers are shocking, as digital advertising is estimated to reach almost $270 billion in 2018 and $335 billion by 2020, according to Statista, while spending on direct mail marketing in 2016 was only $11 billion, according to the DMA.
